What You Need to Know About Dental Sedation

Posted .

Do you ever wonder what you can do to make your next visit to the dentist more tolerable? If you’re ever worried about paying your dentist a visit, you aren’t alone. In fact, would you be surprised to learn that almost every other American deals with some form of dental anxiety? Luckily, there are a few things you can do to make your stay more enjoyable.

However, there are a few different levels of sedation you should know about. For example, you could consider conscious sedation. As you’ve probably guessed, with this type of sedation you’ll be able to respond to our dentist verbally and physically. However, you could also need minimal sedation. If this form of sedation is right for you, you will still be able to respond to our dentist, though your coordination will probably be impaired.

Still, if these solutions aren’t enough, you could need stronger sedation. With stronger forms of sedation, you’ll still be able to respond to our team’s verbal requests, but probably not physical ones. Still, if stronger forms of sedation are necessary, you may be able to respond to stimulation, but will probably be in a deep sleep.

However, please note that not everyone is a good candidate for dental sedation. If you’re interested in sedation, we recommend speaking to our team. We will gladly answer any of the questions you may have.
